Fallot tetralogy patients either develop some degree of pulmonary insufficiency or possible stenosis depending on the chosen type of reconstruction surgery late after repair. Stenosis leads to pressure overload resulting in increased ventricular mass. Trabecules and papillary muscles are potentially affected as well. Pulmonary regurgitation results in increased right ventricular (RV) volume measures. Sometimes experienced observer may have a feeling that the trabecularisation could be also affected. Recently commercial options became available to quantify papillary muscle and trabecular mass. It would be interesting to know how pressure and volume overload alters trabecularisation of the right ventricle.
